I noticed an article in AARP magazine , and it had a picture of an "Archimedes Bath Lift"-It looks interesting, as I have problems getting in and out of a tub- Yes, I like showers , but every now and then it's nice to be able to have a nice relaxing bath-Because of a total knee replacement , it's difficult to get up and down- I just wondered if anyone has had one of these, and I understand it's price is very reasonable???? Thank-you
its like an elevator and they are costly. But they do make a water tight doors for tubs.We can just set inside

After trying 2 1/2 years, and fighting thyroid problems, my husband and I recently found out we are expecting. However, I work at a skilled long term care facility (one step below the hospital) I work 10 hour days, on my feet constantly, and the work involves heavy lifting, (the facility I work at specializes in bariatric residents). My question is, being high risk, what is the weight limit I should be lifting, and what are any other precautions I should be taking? Any help would greatly be appreciated!!
Sorry, I am considered high risk because of my thyroid, I have severe Hashimoto's disease, also previous miscarriage.
I have only been do my endro., not seen an OBGYN, I have made an appt. to see her nurse, soonest she could get me in was 9/27, and she said the doctor doesn't see her patients until they are 12 weeks.
i also am high risk and am a cna in a nursing facility.
i was able to lift the normal amount of wieght a regular pregnancy, up until 4 in a half months. thats 20-25pounds
then i couldnt work that many hours and eventually started doing less and less. now i dont work just to be safe.i am 30 weeks pregnant now. i go every 2weeks to see the doctor and have the whole pregnancy. so if you are going that much as well then you should be okay becuase they monitor you. if you are not going as much then i wouldnt risk the chance of a miscarriage especially you not being that far along and take it easy until a doctor tells you specifically what u should and shouldnt do. 10 hours is a very long time to be on yor feet.and eventually you will start being very worn out.plus does your doctor know you stand that long?u dont want to wear out your fetus or put any strain so you should schedule an appointment if you dont have one soon to find all of this out.
good luck.

sure that the bath will fit through the door. I think it might have been put there when the bathroom extension was originally built. Do I just have to smash it up and how would I do this? The bathroom is a single storey extension and it needs a new roof as well so should the bath be lifted out that way? All replies appreciated thanks.
Getting the tub out of the current space will be the major problem. Cast iron tubs can be broken with a sledge hammer but be aware the flying debris is dangerous. Plastic tubs can be cut with a Sawzall. If you are in the U.S., shower draijns are required to be 2" while tub drains are 1-1/2" so you will need to address this before installing the shower.
plz note that i hav not gave my bf a bath yet however it is for tonight i want to no if it will b ok to give him a bath he is 17 and i am only 15
No, if he is paralysed from he waist down he should have equipment in his home that can be used to put him in the bath such as a hoist etc or even have a wheel in shower. If you attempt to lift him you will likely do yourself injury and risk injury to him too. Give him a bed bath for now and contact Social Services tomorrow and they will send OH out to do an assessment. I can't believe he doesn't have equipment already in place? How does he have a bath the rest of the time?

Obaze sees Red as Terras go down to Romans
WEYMOUTH 0 BATH CITY 2
THE Terras were unable to lift the gloom surrounding the Wessex Stadium as their winless run in Blue Square South stretched to 11 games.
With the club preparing to enter administration, there has been little to excite the loyal supporters this season.
Tonight though, the Terras looked on course to earn at least a point against mid-table Bath City, until the match turned on its head six minutes into the second period.
Defender David Obaze was given his marching orders and the Romans assumed full control with Chris Holland and Darren Edwards bagging the goals that leave rock-bottom Weymouth six points adrift of safety.
Caretaker-boss Ian Hutchinson made two changes from the side that lost out 2-1 at Basingstoke on Saturday. Jordan Rose replaced injury doubt Dean Smith while Jake Reid started ahead of Carl Foster.
Returning Bath Lifts Purchased on the Internet
If you end up needing a bath lift in your home, there probably won't be any local stores that carry one. That's because traditional shops don't carry specialty items. Because of this policy, you'll probably have to shop the Internet to find the bath lift you need. While this is a convenient way to shop, it doesn't give you the opportunity to look the item over before you buy it.
You'll find a selection of different types of bath lifts on the Internet. They will vary in price, size, and quality. You'll find models that are powered using a hand crank, and others that run on rechargeable batteries or water pressure. The only way to really tell if a certain model will actually fit is to take it home and give it a try.
