Bath Lift Seat

I am nearly 5 weeks pregnant and really worried as I have a nearly 3 year old and I find it almost impossible not to lift her - car seat, bath etc. I even carried her through town today as she wouldn't walk. There was no other way. Is this a harm to my unborn baby?

In principle, the medical staff tells you you shouldn't but when you have already a toddler around, there's not too much you can do to avoid lifting your older kid several times per day. I was in the same situation as you. I had to lift my son a lot too when I was pregnant with my daughter since he was only 15 months old when I got pregnant again. But you know what, both my daughter and I were totally fine even with all the lifting, and I even turned out to be overdue.

Does anyone have any good recommendations for a bath seat for my nearly 8 month old son?? At the moment we have a bath support that he lies down on but now that he can sit up by himself I would like to get him a safe seat. I wouldn't want him to just sit up with no surrounding support as the bottom of the bath can get quite slippery and even though I have no intention of leaving him alone in the bath I would still like to be safe. Obviously it would have to be something that would enable us to still be able to wash him properly all over without having to lift him to much. Any suggestions would be welcome.

just put him in the firkin bath, he's going to be safe! or get in with him, what do you think ppl did b4 all these stupid little safety was invented, thats this centuries children are psychologically week, too much molly coddling!

It all depends on your level of mobility and upper body strength.

If you need to use a wheelchair and you want a seated bath, then a bath that allows slide-in transfer from a wheelchair to the seat is best. A good UK model is the Universal from Wibco (the name stands for "Walk in Bath Company").

If you don't use a wheelchair and want a seated bath, then the Classic is a good choice. If you want a smaller seated bath, then you may want to consider The Little Gem, which can fit in powder rooms, cloakrooms, or even the corner of a bedroom.

If you don't use a wheelchair and want a traditional reclined bath, then you have two options, both with doors but no seats. The Duet has no seat and you stretch out after closing the door and filling the bathtub. The Luxor is the same as the Duet -- stretch out, no seat, with a door -- but it has a power belt seat. The seat is operated by controls that raise or lower the seat into the tub. Great for people with reduced upper body strength.

Living alone (now) makes this an easy one for me, but the Mom and Dad still visit, which is good but they have thier own bath which is also good.

Sorry, no. I think women have an issue with this because if the seat is up, and they quickly go to use the toilet w/o checking to see if the seat is down, they can literally fall into the toilet. :P It's sweet of you to ask though. :)

88 yr. old that can no longer use the walker in the house to get around. Now needs a transport chair to be wheeled from room to room when needed. Needs a Care Giver that will help in VERY light house keeping ( dusting, vacum etc.) for small one floor condo. Meals- microwave - nothing at all-. Shower Help. Needs to be secure on the shower seat then helped back out when done. No dressing or actual "bathing" from care giver needed. FEMALE HELP ONLY. 88 yr. old woman needs the help. Family members not qualified or strong enough for lifting.
Need a very modest wage seeker or that accepts Major Insurance Company Coverage. Monday, Tueday, Wednsday, Thursday and Saturday Schedule. Am about 10:00 till evening about 9:00-9:30 for bed . IMPOSSIBLE IT SEEMS but NEEDED! Please contact A.S.A.P ! Thank you.
