Sleep Adjustable Bed

Anyone have an adjustable bed or know someone who has/had one? How do you like it? What brand do you have? Anyone sleep with their pets? Does the movement scare them?

After years of propping myself up in bed (I have sleep apnea and acid reflux), I think I’m ready to spend a few thousand dollars for an adjustable bed. Just want to make sure it is something I really want.

I had one and it worked great after i converted it to make a fold up ramp for my trailer. not joking

I'm considering a Sleep Comfort adjustable bed. Does anyone know if they're as good as others on the market?

I think Sleep Number is the best. We've had ours for nearly 3 years without any complaints.

We've got a twin captain's bed for our almost 3-year old, and we have a bed rail on the side. The trouble is that he moves all over the bed when he sleeps, and he'll fall off the bottom of the bed if we don't have a guard. Can't seem to find anything online -- help!?!?

Why not move a dresser or book shelf to the end of the bed for now? That way the barrier is there.

I have had 5 back surgery's covering the lumbar area from S1,L5,L4, L3, AND L2. All being fused in short terms, excecpt a titanium spring/cage at L4/L5 which was my first surgery. I have a sleep comfort adjustable air bed which allows you to change stiffness from very soft to hard. Even on the softest setting my back hurts a lot more then if i sleep on my couch with my head more elevaded which is more like an arch or recliner position. The QUESTION is "why does my back hurt much more when i wake up if i sleep in my bed then if i sleep on my coach???? No one i have talked to including my doctor which was highly recommented knows. I just find it hard to believe i'm the only person that has this problem. One other thing that came along with this was just minutes before i went into surgery i didn't have any problems with the top of my feet. The minute i cam to i noticed my feet, more the right then the left had a numness with an irrited feeling which i still have to this day. Please help

I think that it's essential to do whatever you can do get a good night's sleep and if that means buying a new bed, so be it. There is a bed that I have seen advertised on television whereby the head of the bed can be raised to various angles. It's called the Craftmatic Adjustable Bed. You may have to invest in one of these in order to take the strain off your lower back. Also, it reads as if there was possible spinal nerve damage or, at the very least, some irritation of the sciatic nerve (the posterior part being the common peroneal nerve) leading to the top of the foot. This latter problem may or may not get better with time. You've probably heard of the sciatic nerve, the largest nerve in the body. Well, this nerve originates from your lower spine (L4 thru S3) and, as it runs down the thigh, it supplies the posterior muscles there and then divides just above the knee into the common peroneal and tibial nerves. The common peroneal nerve winds around the lateral surface of the leg to supply the anterolateral leg muscles and be continued onto the dorsum (top) of the foot. Somewhere, probably during surgery, this nerve was inadvertently "bruised"--to what extent, only time will tell.
