Mattress Bed

Yes, I know the best answer is "lose weight" but I need to know....if you're overweight and end up with a backache or other aches on a regular mattress/bed, what kind of bed has worked better for you?

My husband and I are both overweight. We have a Tempurpedic mattress and LOVE it! We've had it for over three years, and it is wonderful. Aches and pains are virtually gone by morning. It's pricey (ours was $2,000) but definitely worth the money. I would buy one again today... no hesitation.

Disposable mattress bed bug bags (covers) can cost anywhere from $30 to $60 each here in Canada (just for a Twin bed). Any alternatives? I'm in an apartment building.

I got Bed bugs and had to move.I left all in apt and washed every thing.

We have a king bed that is peaking or bowing in the middle. We both sleep on the edges so the middle is starting to peak up. It is a pillowtop so we can't flip the mattress over and it can't be turned sideways because the mattress is not square. Any ideas on how to fix it?

The poor quality polyurethane foam used in many pillowtops rapidly degrades resulting in body depressions. One option is to cut off the top layer and replace it with a latex topper and a wool fleece pad.

I live in Philadelphia and was wondering, how do people usually throw out their old bed mattress. Can you just throw it out and let the garbage men come and get it? Or must I call someone from the district to set up a pickup date for something in that size?

-If you are buying a new mattresss, most stores will pick up the old mattress and discard or donate it to charity for you.

-You can also call your local shelter to donate it yourself.
-Use www.craigslist.org to offer it free to someone who cant afford one.
-Perhaps even someone in your family or friends may need one.
-Some cities/counties will have a special number to call for the collection of bulk items for disposal.

Remember recycle, help someone in need, save our planet!

I bought a bed two years ago , and the base of the bed.. Im not sure what to call it. But its about the size of a mattress and is put under the matress and is made of of wood and covered.

Mine is broken on one side and I want to throw it away but its so big I dont know where to take it

any ideas?
