Want full-electric bed.
It's best to actually see the bed, lay down on it, try it out. Look at how wide it is. Depending on the condition of the person who will be using it...is there enough room to turn from side to side, yet is it narrow enough so one person can do care for the patient. Do the side rails go all the way down, and how easy are they to operate. Does the bed itself go down far enough to make getting out safe, but up far enough so a table tray or lift will fit underneath? Is the hand control simple enough to understand and easy to use, depending on the condition and ability of the patient?
A hospital bed itself is probably fairly standard. The most important aspect will be the mattress. That's a matter of comfort. If the patient is bed bound, the normal bed mattress is most likely not going to be enough to prevent pressure areas or discomfort. You will want to look into some sort of air mattress, either electric alternating or gel or maybe just egg crate foam to start off with.

Me and my friend are trying to get an apartment in St.Augustine. Its going to be a 2 bed 2 bath. We're both full time students and work around 25 hrs/wk so we're not home most of the time. Im just trying to budget things out. What do you think out electric bill would be per month on average from experience?
If noone replies, call the city on Monday and ask who provides power and an operator can help you find out a basic estimate, there will be 2 seasons of per watt charges, right now the country is in the cheaper rate and in a short time it will increase alot.
We have all but 1 of the storage heaters switched off, the 1 that is on is on minimum. We both work full time, just have the usual stuff, t.v, lap top, washing machine (1 wash a day) toaster, oven, kettle, sky, hairdryer, straightener and fridge freezer. Who would we complain to if we are being overcharged or paying the next door flat's electric bill?
This is possible depending on how u use ur appliances.
But it can happened due to under charged in past. Usually, electricity company charge ball park figure every month/quarter, but they definitely come for actual reading at least once a year. so, if u were getting charged less in past, they charged u all in this months bill.
Just make sure to check ur meter reading this time.
Also, if this is not the case, u need to call in an electrician to check the overall load of ur place as compared to ur bill.
Also, i know few instances where companies doesn't have the right figures as the person who did the reading mugged it up, so check ur bill with ur meter reading.
Hope this help
I recently answered a question with this but I think it deserves it's own spot for proper focus.
A minimum wage job pays about 13k annually (before taxes) IF they get a full 40. So after taxes they have about 900-980 a month depending on filing status and children.
The cheapest apartment I could find locally was a 2 room efficiency for $375 a month (note not a 2-bed, a 2-ROOM)
food will cost at least $100 person per month
Utilities would be cheaper for a small apartment so lets say $150 for electric & heat. $20 for water.
If you have a job you'll need a car so $200 for a car payment and $30 for insurance throw in $40 for gas
$25 for a phone (cheap for a landline)
let's see I've covered rent, utilities, food and transportation what's left? Oh clothes, toiletries, cleaning supplies and other little things, hmm.... we'll go cheap here to and say $20 a month.
What do we have so far .... $960 a month to live in a 2 room hovel and eat raman noodles on a regular basis.
How would someone in your area do with a budget of $900-990 a month?
HA, food stamps that's a good one. A single person making minimum wage doesn't qualify for food stamps.
And I'll tell you My family of 4 has an income of about $1200 a month (barely above minimum) and we get a grand total of $225 in food stamps a month. So there ya go family of 4 on $1425 a month, do that budget. Find a place to live locally for a family (we need a 3-bed as my kids are the opposite sex) and make a car payment on that. If ya want to try adding in a job for me but don't forget childcare costs and a second car.
Oooooo.... college education, good point there, I have an accounting degree (assoc. for now and 10 classes from a BA)
To finish my degree I need about $3600 a semester and FA will pay $2050 of it. Don't forget the child care.....
Oh, I'm not talking about immigrants here, I'm talking about Americans who have no where else to go and are trying to compete with the illegals.
You don't, especially if you have children, that's why i'm living with family right now. I was making just a little above minimum and after struggling, starving and selling everything I had, I couldn't do it on my own anymore.

Window blinds sold by IKEA, Bed Bath & Beyond and Hanover Direct ...
WASHINGTON — Nearly 1 million roller blinds and Roman shades sold by IKEA, Bed Bath & Beyond and Hanover Direct were recalled Tuesday for posing a serious strangulation risk to small children.
A child’s neck can get tangled in the inner cord of Roman shades or the exposed loop of roller blinds, according to the Consumer Product Safety Commission.
The recall includes about 533,000 ISDANS, TUPPLUR and ENJE roller blinds manufactured in Taiwan and France and sold by IKEA Home Furnishings of Conshohocken, Pa. between July 2005 and July 2009.
IKEA previously recalled blinds in August, as well as in November 2008, following the death of a child. No incidents involving IKEA blinds were reported in this recall.
