Bed Frame Risers

I want to raise my bed but dont want a frame cuz they ALWAYS make noise which is a giant pet peeve of mine. If I go without the frame is my bed gonna tip over every time i get out of it??

My son didn't want a box spring or a frame so his matress set low to the floor. I built a frame out of 2x10s and put 3/4" plywood on the top. He loved it.

I have a heavy wooden bed frame with rectangular legs. I need bed risers to store things underneath but I can only find square and circular ones. Is there any place to find rectangular risers that are strong enough to support a heavy frame?

Oh, btw, I dont want to use cinder blocks b/c they look tacky and I dont have a bed skirt (nor do I want to get one).

You can go to Lowes or Home Depot and have them cut for you or cut them yourself. Then stain them the color of your bed and they will look like they belong there instead of an afterthought.

i dont have a bedframe for my bed and want to get the matress off the floor. i bought bed risers but they are for bed frames not for the matress it self. can i srick anything under there that will lift it off the floor. cardboard boxes wont hold...
anything i can buy at the store?

If you don't have the boxspring, you can just buy a couple of sheets of plywood at a hardware/lumber store. They'll even cut it for you.

Assuming you have a twin bed, you can use one sheet of plywood and put your risers underneath it.

It might be easier for you to find a used boxspring & bedframe or a platform bedframe for free in your neighborhood by perusing the Free ads on Craigslist or Freecycle or posting under the wanted section.

I'd like to use bed risers for my bed but my bed frame has rollers at the bottom so there's no way I can put rollers in my risers (plus they don't fit)....anyone know if you can remove the rollers/how?

bed rail wheels can be removed. I have a hard time keeping them on. There is usually a plastic shim around the part the fits into the metal on the bottom of the frame . You can take a small hammer and hit it (the wheel) just above the round wheel until you break that plastic and the wheel will fall out. You might be able to pull the wheels out with a pair of pliers they just slip into the frame. good luck

My metal bed frame has caster wheels and they appear to be moulded on. I bought bed risers and within two weeks the two at the foot of the bed collapsed, due to the rolling motion when the bed was used or touched. I thought the wheels could be locked, but am unable to loosen or tighten the "wing" on the side which might do the job. Has anyone ever dealt with this? I really need the extra storage space.

The casters will more than likely come off. Try to hit the top of the wheel and see it will come off. Usually there is a part that is pressed on then the wheel has a pin on it that is driven into the part that is pressed onto the bed. You may have to get a little nasty with it but I'll bet they will drive off from the bottom. Have someone hold the bed up and hit down on what ever part of the wheel or the metal part that goes to the center of the wheel.
