How can we find a hotel in San Diego that has an adjustable bed (like hospital bed)?

Hi, you might want to try doing some research on: www.hotellocaters.com
Good Luck!

Anyone know of a homemade adjustable bed, with padded sides?

My sister is disabled, and in order for health care workers to come into our home, we need her to be in a hospital bed, ( or a bed that goes up and down and is on wheels) however, a hospital bed will not hold her in, she seizures and if she is sitting up and goes into a seizure she could fall out as the rails are not very high on a regular hospital bed.
Does anyone know of a homemade adjustable bed ( that goes up and down ) with higher and padded sides ?

Perhaps this will work:

I have no personal knowledge of it, just did a search.
You can add padding yourself as I have never heard of padded guard rails for adult beds--infants yes, adults never seen such a thing though it might exist--a hospital nurse might know.
Good luck. If that does not work, contact your local Area Agency on Aging (listed like that in phone book) and tell them what you need and they hopefully have someone who can give you the name of a company that provides an appropriate one.

My lower back hurts in bed, I need some ideas how to make an upside down V shape adjustable thing for under my?

knees (under my mattress).
I used to put big pillows under my knees, but they get flat after a while. I need to make something out of wood and adjustable to rise or make it lower. I dont want to buy hospital bed. they're heavy and I live upstairs,
thank you for giving me ideas.

I'm not sure you'll be able to get it to work under the mattress (under the mattess pad maybe, but the mattress itself is a little to firm to adjust that way) I'd try some form of foam to keep your knees bent. Most craft stores sell foam for pillows and things like that so you should be able to find a piece big enough.

My dad had these big foam bolster pillows to prop his feet up on when he had surgery on both his ankles (both legs were in big plaster casts) and they worked well (the foam was sturdy enough to not smash down under the weight of the casts). Plus foam would be light weight so easy to move upstairs.

hawaii resorts that have adjustable hospital type beds?

You'd need to call them individually. Check out the resorts online in the place you will be visiting. Then call them and ask if they can accomodate you, and how much extra it would cost you..

Does Medicare help pay for the cost of purchase or rental of hospital type adjustable single beds ? Thanks !?

I am almost 88 years old, have pretty bad arthritus, and suffer intermittasntly from sciatica and swollen legs, which diuretics do not relieve. I am pretty sure my doctor would give me a prescription for such a bed, but feel I could not bear the entire cost myself. I also have supplemental medical insurance, and it's possible there would be some help there financially.

Medicare will pay at least a portion of the cost for an adjustable bed that you absolutely have to use. Your Doctor needs to write a prescription and you need to request that the seller assist you with the paperwork. If they do not know how to obtain it or help you, find somewhere else to purchase your adjustable bed.
