We have all seen the commercial for a certain brand of adjustable beds on TV. What they don’t tell you is that their adjustable bed is made by the same manufacturer that makes most adjustable bed foundations for most brands on the market. This is something to think about when you do your shopping for a bed. When you’re looking at various beds keep in mind you’re shipping mainly for the mattress and not the adjustable part of the bed itself. It is a common mistake to think that the adjustable frame is what you’re looking for. The mattress is what you sleep on and modern adjustable foundations work with most of the most popular mattress types available today.

When shopping for your bed you are going to want to know a few things before hand. The majority of what you will find are electric adjustable beds. They will have a few basic features that will be the same from model to model, adjustable head and leg areas. The differences you will find, and will want to decide upon is if you want heating and massage functions. While there are few differences other than what is mentioned above, you do have one other important thing you need to research and decide on, the durability of the foundation. There are a few basic levels of durability when it comes to the motors in the bed. Your weight is going to be a factor in determining what type of foundation to buy. While there are many different designs they fall into two basic categories, regular adjustable bed or a split adjustable bed. The normal adjustable foundation adjusts the whole bed at once while a split model allows each person to adjust their side of the bed to their liking. For heavier people you are going to want to look at a split model as the weight limits for a regular model tend to top out at 600 pounds for queen and king sizes.
